Digipak and Advert - Hall and Oates

Everything circled/underlined in a thick black line is a convention of a digi pack and advert. What I've wrote on the cover is "the bold font and bright colours make the title the first thing you notice as the white creates a harsh contrast. The bright red connotes danger"

Digipak and Advert - Panic! At The Disco

Everything circled/underlined in a thick black line is a convention of a digi pack and advert. What I've written on the cover is "Fans will recognise this font, which will help them connect with the album and stay loyal to the band."

The performance with the whole band present is typical to the pop rock genre.

Initial ideas - pop rock

A mindmap on our initial understanding and ideas of the pop rock genre. Our initial idea is to compare the old pop rock videos with the modern pop rock videos. We are also thinking of taking aspects from both the old and new videos to use in our own production.

Music video structure

This music video was created to sell the song and the artist as the video shows the ideal version of her. However, this video also has some performance as Katy Perry often sings to the camera (another way to sell the artist as it creates a connection between the artist and their audience). You could also say the video has a narrative element as the video depicts a story of Katy Perry surviving on her own in a jungle. Inter-textualtiy is used within the video to help reinforce the jungle theme. For example, Katy Perry swings from a rope, which mimics Tarzan. Also, a comic style still image is used at the beginning and end of the video to add to the adventurous style of the video. This music video only uses performance - typical of the grime genre. The video is 4:25 minutes long, so it is just outside o...
